6 BASIC FACE SHAPES and your EYEBROWS

6  Basic Face Shapes and your Brows

Brows.....arch, round, tattoo

Depending on the shape of your face, your eye brows are the antique gold frame for your face image that features like your eyes, lashes, your eye lids, etc.. you get the point are the picture/painting inside that frame and the more beautiful the frame is that how much beautiful the picture or painting looks in it. The way to determine the shape of your eye brows depends on the shape of your face.

"Knowing your face shape is the first step to creating your most beautiful look" - Kevyn Aucoin

There are six basic face shapes

How to Determine your Face Shape….

Find your Face Shape

Step 1: Measure the length of your face with a ruler. (In this case the total length of the face is 8).
Step 2: Divide the total length by 3. (In this case 8 divided by 3 is 2.67).
Step 3: Measure the length from the bottom of your nose to the bottom of your chin. (in this case 2 1/3)
If the last number is larger than the first number, chances are you have a long face.
If the last number is less than the first number, chances are you have a round face.
• If the last number equals the first number, chances are you have an oval face
.

Another way to determine face shape...

Start by pulling your hair back from your face, and look closely in the mirror. The features to look for are:

Oval Face Shape
• Forehead is wider than the chin
• Prominent cheekbones
• Face gracefully tapers to a narrow chin

Round Face Shape
• Face is almost as wide as it is long
• Face is widest at the cheeks

  Long Face Shape
• Forehead, cheekbones and jawlines are all about the same width
• Face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin

Square Face Shape
• Forehead, cheekbones and jawlines are all about the same width
• The squared jawline is the most obvious feature

Heart Face Shape
• Similar to oval but the chin tapers to a point

Diamond Face Shape
•Not as common as the other face shapes
• Typically the face is highly angular
• The forehead is somewhat short and the face is widest at the temples

2 Ways to Keep oily skin under Control

Cleanse

Washing your face more than twice a day is more than enough. During summer days our face feels like its melting and the only thing comes to mind is washing to wash away the oils. While using cleanser it may feel like we wash off excess oil but in reality your skin will go in over drive telling your sebaceous gland to start producing more oils to replace what was washed causing your skin to get oily. Especially for those who already have a combination to oily skin this will cause your skin to look oily and not dewy. Use a facewash without sulfates, oils, parabens, and perfumes. A gel formula that foams a little bit (Boscia Black Cleanser) is great but find something you like and works for you. Washing your face twice a day and definitely after makeup, makeup wipes are great but even after I wash when I use toner I see residual makeup on the cotton pad. (Neutrogena)

Blotting Paper

Your best friend especially during the summer months, to keep your make up on and no shine blotting papers are great. Sometimes you can buy them in bulk. In the midst of summer after an hour outside my skin looks like I had just came out of a sauna blotting papers are my best friend I keep them in my bag just dab gently on your skin, what I also do is since a touch my face or kiss my kids I slightly run my powder brush over my T-zone or oily areas. If you’re out and about tissue paper will do the job again you want to dab it over your T-zone and oily areas.

#BareSkin

#TheRealSkinRoutine

I know I am guilty not washing my face every night especially since I wear makeup every day. I know you must be thinking then there goes your dirty pillow makeup on it from last night or two nights ago. So recently I have been very consistent and I see the results at the end of the third day when I wash my face in the morning and night and use my skin regiment. I have been a big fan of #LauraMercier skin care. But last year I invested in #Laneige a Korean skin regiment that had serum day and night cream. It also had sleeping mask, you just have to put it on your skin at night and not worry about washing. Since that was last year I am running out, so in order to maintain a balance on not going over the makeup spending limit when I notice that I am low on eye cream or face cream or face polish I replace it and when I am out of the jar I have the replacement ready to use. Not all products finish at once, so when I notice the next jar or tube of skin care low I replace it and when time comes for me to make the purchase its one item I don’t have to worry about it being too expensive and I can’t afford the list of 5-4 items that I need to maintain my beautiful skin looking young and ageless. Currently I wash with #Boscia black cleanser it already has small exfoliating agents. But in addition to my cleanser I use #LaureMercier Face Polish. I have a combination skin with tones of blemishes – you know when you see that zit on your skin you’re trying to make sure that it’s gone ASAP! My nose cheeks and forehead is oily, my chin is dry. I use Face Polish at least once a week maybe every other week unless my skin is very blotchy. How can you tell if your skin is blotchy? When your foundation goes on your skin you notice uneven skin surface hence for the face polish. I apply my #Laneige skin serum that I still have, then moisturizer and eye cream. I squeeze in #SKII toner couple times after I wash my skin with my cleanser – when I feel that my skin needs extra balance I use the toner. You will see a difference. It’s a matter of repetition and maintaining your skin. Same goes with diet and exercise routine. It shouldn’t matter what products used because everyone’s skin is different and reacts to products differently. IT IS IMPORTANT to wash and keep a routine.

My recommendation for skin routine is listed below and  I have listed the products I use next to it.

Remove Makeup (Night) (#Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover)
